Abhijit Banerjee is the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics and Director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has a M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta, M.A. from Jawaharlal University, and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
Professor Banerjee researches economic development, information theory, theory of income distribution, and macroeconomics.
