Sven-Oliver Proksch is an Associate Professor of Political Science at McGill University and Co-Director of the European Union Centre of Excellence. He was the co-recipient of the 2012 Gosnell Prize for Excellence in Political Methodology. Professor Proksch earned his B.A. from the University of Konstanz, M.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University, and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
His research deals topics including the politics of parliamentary debate, coalition governance, legislative behavior, European Union politics, and the estimation of ideology from political texts.
