Francesco Trebbi is the Canada Research Chair and Professor of Economics at the University of British Columbia. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research. Professor Trebbi earned his B.A. in Political Economy from Bocconi University and M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
His primary research interests are in political economy and macroeconomics (with emphasis on monetary and fiscal policy).
